Having been able to complete the ride on Thursday I got to spend Friday morning doing another preferred sport.
After an early morning in the Biltmore Inn library I headed out for a run around the estate. I started out by heading down to the farm & running out along the river. Sunflowers were just beginning to bloom along the road.
As I headed up the hill to the main house, I came across blooming flame azaleas along the side of the azalea garden. At the top of the hill the staff were preparing the house fo rthe day and I began passing cards as I headed back down the hill towards the Biltmore Inn.
I turned out towards Deerpark restauraunt and passed for the second time under I40. After rounding back towards the Winery I decided to make the run a full 13 miles. Heading towards the main gate, I hit 12 miles and decided to try out one of the trails.
It turns out that the trail was 3 miles long rather than a simple 1 mile (as I had expected) and as I crested the hill up towards the inn, my gps clocked 15 miles.
Hungry and a bit exhausted I settled onto the veranda for a cup (or two) of coffee and a view of the showers that started at 9am.
We spent the rest of the afternoon thrifting at the local habitat & goodwill stores and ate at deerpark before heading out of town.
