This past weekend (11-07-09) I completed my second iron-distance race in Wilmington, NC. I returned to Wilmington this year because it was such a good race last year. We lucked out again with beautiful weather (even warmer than last year) and now, as I write this several days later – a cold hurricane has been dumping rain on NC since tuesday.
I finished in 10:57 – Just a bit after darkness fell and almost an hour before my finishing time last year. I dropped about 14 minutes on the bike this year and just under 30 minutes on the run so it was a good race day 
I hated that while I had a great race day that Susan had to drop from the race after she was hit by another cyclist at the first water stop at mile 30 on the bike. She was in reasonable spirits by the time I saw her several hours later but clearly disappointed to miss the penultimate moment of completing the race after months of training.
Next up is the Kiawah Marathon on December 12th.
