Epic Blue Ridge run

On July 18th I decided to head out for a run on the BRP towards Doughton Park. I had always wanteed to run from the Cabin at MP 257 to Doughton Park but had never had the offer of a ride home! With Jeff willing to serve as run support I headed out no GPS just an iphone, two bottles of water, and some oatmeal cream pies.

At Mile 9 I started thinking about extending the mileage. The stretch from mile 9 to 11 is flat followed by a series of hills up to Doughton park at mile 17.

After re-fueling at MP 248 I ran to MP 240, just past Doughton Park and turned back around. After meeting Jeff down the road and telling him that my new goal was 26 miles we set a new pickup time.

Not many pics from the last 9 miles, I was both glad for the downhill mileage from Mile 17 to 23 and tired as my legs sought some flat ground. One last climb from the Highway 18 intersection up to MP 249 and I was done :) . In all it took me about 4.5 hours to run with three refueling stops.
